![]() Georgia’s journey is her realization that she is aro/ace: aromantic asexual, which she doesn’t even know the words for at the beginning of the novel. She also said that Georgia was one of the most difficult characters to write because her journey was “very difficult… to figure out”. ![]() In an interview with Blue Willow Books, Oseman said that Georgia is one of three characters she most relates to because there’s so much of herself in the character. I found this novel to be the most earnest of Oseman’s works, possibly because it is so close to her heart. Georgia is trying to determine her sexuality while her friends also explore what love and relationships mean to them while pursuing course work and resurrecting a Shakespeare theatre group with only five people. Loveless follows the story of university freshman Georgia and her three closest friends as they navigate the perils of new university life. The one easter egg I noticed was a reference to the podcast “Universe City”, which was prominent in Radio Silence. ![]() ![]() This novel takes place in her Osemanverse, though it is several years after the events of Heartstopper and therefore doesn’t have any of the familiar characters from her earlier works. ![]() Alice Oseman’s most recent YA novel, Loveless, was released in July 2020 in the UK and in March 2022 in the US. ![]()
